Job summary

Alberta Health Services recherche un Kinesiologist pour un poste temporaire à l'Hôpital Royal Alexandra. Le candidat sera responsable de l'évaluation et du développement de programmes d'exercice pour les patients atteints de maladies chroniques. Ce rôle nécessite un baccalauréat en kinésiologie et au moins 3 ans d'expérience pertinente dans le domaine de la réhabilitation.

Qualifications

Job description

Your Opportunity:

As a Kinesiologist, you will be working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, utilizing evidence-based and client-centred practice. You may be performing assessments of exercise tolerance to develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain appropriate exercise programs, as well as referring patients to other healthcare programs and services. You will take a health promotion perspective, providing self-management support and guiding patients towards health and physical functioning improvements through pre-participation evaluations, health status screening, and outcome measurement tests. You may develop, supervise, monitor, and modify exercise programs, supervise clients both individually and in group settings, and provide education to patients and their families. This position is based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, or an equivalent exercise science degree.
• Current Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification from CSEP or the American College of Sports Medicine (CEP).

Additional Requirements:

• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support/Health Care Provider (BCLS/HCP) Level C certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent program development experience and delivering rehabilitative exercise programs to patients with chronic health challenges.
• Minimum of 2 years of nephrology experience (within the past 3 years) or chronic disease management experience such as heart failure.

Preferred Skills:

• Excellent communication skills with individuals with disabilities and the elderly.
• Ability to function effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with EMR systems and Connect Care is preferred.

This position involves working shifts including days, evenings, and weekends, with a part-time FTE of 0.80. The position is temporary, from July 31, 2025, to December 31, 2025, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
