Job summary

Northern Lights School Division No is seeking a full-time KidsFirst North Home Visiting Program facilitator. The position is permanent with a salary of CAD 42.20–49.36 per hour, based on education and experience.

The role delivers curriculum-based, strength-based early childhood development and prenatal support, partnering with families and collaborating with the home visiting team to plan, develop and implement services.

Qualifications

• Early childhood certification and/or social work degree with supervisory background.
• Ability to lead and support in early childhood development and prenatal/family programs.
• Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle and travel as required; must obtain insurance and pass a Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support/supervision for full-time home visitor.
• Collaborate with the home visiting team on planning, development, and implementation of the KidsFirst NORTH Home Visiting Program.
• Provide families with information and life skill development opportunities using a strength-based approach.
• Identify prenatal and parent needs for strong support systems through community linkages.
• Document all family contacts and prepare required reports.

Job description

KidsFirst is a voluntary program that supports families with children prenatal to age 3. The program is delivered using a curriculum that enhances parenting knowledge, builds on family strengths, and provides support. The program is a combination of home visiting services, referrals to other agencies, assisting with access to early learning and childcare opportunities, and encouraging the development of family support systems. It is culturally relevant, child centered, family-focused, and strength-based.

FTE: Full-time

Term of Employment: Permanent

Salary and Benefits: $42.20 - $49.36 per hour -According to education and experience.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Certification and/or a Social Work Degree with a demonstrated supervisory background. Equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and support in early childhood development, family and prenatal support delivered through curriculum-based activities.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, have access to a reliable vehicle, and obtain a $2,000,000.00 business liability insurance policy. Must be able to travel as required by the position.
• A Criminal Record Check, with Vulnerable Sector Check must be submitted with the resume to be considered for an interview.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support/supervision for full-time home visitor
• Work collaboratively as part of the home visiting team on planning, development, and implementation of the KidsFirst NORTH Home Visiting Program
• Provide client families with information and life skill development opportunities using a strength-based approach that promotes positive parent-child relationships, healthy growth and development, and enhanced family functioning
• Identify and support prenatal women and/or parents with children aged 0 – 3 years to develop strong support systems through linkages with other community services and resources
• Document all contact with families on a continual basis as well as the preparation of other documents and reports as required by KFN
