Malabar is a rapidly growing manufacturer and distributor of food ingredients into the North American food industry. We are searching for a well networked and experienced sales professional to build out the bakery and dairy market space in Quebec and Eastern Canada.

The ideal candidate is a hunter, self-motivated, and detail-oriented team player who is committed to the success of our customers. You will focus on building and developing food manufacturing clients in the bakery and dairy sectors.

  • Experience selling into industrial food processors (B2B) along with technical sales abilities related to food ingredients is a MANDATORY QUALIFICATION.
  • You must live in the greater Montreal area and hold a valid driver’s license.
  • You must have room for a home office setup.

Responsibilities

  • Operate as the primary point of contact for key account stakeholders.
  • Develop trusted advisory relationships with accounts, customer stakeholders, and internal partners.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and their impact on the organization’s competitiveness and product offerings.
  • Host customer meetings, innovation days, and deliver high-level presentations.
  • Manage key account planning and development.
  • Develop clear and effective proposals and quotes for current and prospective customers.
  • Address all customer issues to ensure satisfaction and escalate as needed.
  • Actively participate in trade shows, training seminars, and conventions.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with Marketing, Inventory, and Operations teams.
  • Travel across Canada and the US approximately 25% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the food industry.
  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience in the food industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, good listening skills, competitive spirit, and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license.
