Job summary

Sunrise Farms is seeking a seasoned Key Account Manager to lead growth in corporate foodservice and retail channels across Canada. You will drive revenue through telephone-based selling, lead generation, and strong relationship management with existing and new clients.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in CPG or Food Service sales, excellent MS Office skills, and a proven ability to close deals while meeting quotas. Travel to events and customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • University or college degree and min 5 years CPG or Food Service selling experience.
  • Experience with CPG and overall Food Service industry.
  • Possess strong selling and interpersonal skills, as well as critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas.

Responsibilities

  • Cold-call prospects to generate leads and revenue.
  • Penetrate targeted accounts and expand within client base.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Sales Director on strategic approaches.
  • Maintain and expand the prospect database and pass leads with details.
  • Prepare sales presentations and product/service demonstrations.
  • Support marketing efforts at trade shows and events.
  • Handle inbound/outbound calls and cross-sell/up-sell.
  • Overcome objections and discuss terms to finalize sales.

Role

The Key Account Manager is responsible for selling corporate products or services through the achievement of opportunity-based sales quotas. The KAM will reach business targets through excellent telephone sales and communications skills. This individual will also develop his or her phone-based revenue generation through the creation of sales leads, initiation of prospect calls, and establishment of ongoing rapport with existing and potential customers. Integrity, vision, and passion are essential for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Cold-call prospects that are generated by external sources of lead.
  • Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Sales Director to determine necessary strategic sales approaches.
  • Maintain and expand the company’s database of prospects.
  • Ensure follow-up by passing leads to Sales Director with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, and all other relevant information.
  • Set up and deliver sales presentations, product/service demonstrations, and other sales actions.
  • Where necessary, support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits, and other events.
  • Make outbound follow-up calls to existing customers via telephone and e-mail cross-sell and up-sell.
  • Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales.
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers.
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.
  • Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate database.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot customer service issues.
  • Attend periodic sales training where applicable.
  • Appropriately communicate brand identity and corporate position.
Requirements
  • University or college degree and min 5 years CPG or Food Service selling experience.
  • Experience with CPG and overall Food Service industry.
  • Strong emphasis on computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel & Power Point, as well as strong analytical & organization skills.
  • Possess strong selling & interpersonal skills, as well as critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas.
  • Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management.
  • Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Self motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
  • Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures.
  • Ability to occasionally travel and attend sales events or exhibits, to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Experience with customer relationship management software.

$100,000 - $120,000 a year
