Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is seeking a Christmas Kettle Campaign driver in Surrey, BC. You will deliver and collect kettles at assigned locations, load donations, and follow the daily schedule.

This temporary role starts November 13, 2026, with shifts that may include days, evenings, weekends, and split shifts. You must have a BC Class 5 Driver’s License, be able to lift up to 40 lbs, and complete required background checks. Accommodations available upon request.

Job Description

Position Purpose summary: The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is part of a century old fundraising tradition to contribute towards building strong communities by helping TSA to give hope to other. The Christmas kettle driver is responsible for delivering and picking up kettles from various assigned locations as directed.

Accountabilities

• Deliver and/or pick up kettle(s) from assigned locations in a timely manner.
• Deliver kettles to their final daily destination and help empty the kettle contents into the deposit bags.
• Follow the provided drop off/ pick up schedule.
• Greet staff/ clients/ volunteers/ public in a friendly and professional manner.
• Maintain daily mileage log.
• Perform other related duties as required.

FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT

Collect donations and petty cash and ensure donations are always kept secure.

Working Conditions

This is a temporary position starting on November 13, 2026. Hours may vary depending on campaign needs and scheduling availability. Shifts may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break. Flexibility in scheduling is required, as the hours may increase as per operational requirements. Required to wear appropriate Salvation Army identification. Ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs. in a safe manner. Pick up and drop off equipment or supplies as needed.

Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities. Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.

Education, Qualifications and Certifications

• Completed High School or equivalent
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License

Experience and Knowledge

Prior related experience is an asset. Current copy of driver’s abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $18.50 to $23.13 with a maximum of $27.76. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
