The Salvation Army International is seeking a Kettle Coordinator II for the Christmas Kettle Campaign in Alberta. This fixed-term, part-time role oversees several kettle locations, coordinates volunteers, and ensures secure handling of donations during scheduled shifts. Shifts are up to 20 hours weekly across St.

Albert, Stoney Plain, and Spruce Grove. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and strong customer service skills to engage donors and volunteers during the holiday

Qualifications

  • Some high school coursework; completion of high school is an asset.
  • One year of related experience or working in customer service.
  • Money handling experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Attend training/orientation for The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign.
  • Support in getting Kettles to zone locations before volunteer arrival.
  • Ensure all Kettle donations are secured and delivered at shift end.
  • Supervise and support Kettle Volunteers throughout the Campaign; recruit volunteers.
  • Communicate daily with the Campaign team and ensure timely timesheets and mileage reports.

Job description

**POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:** The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is part of a century old tradition to contribute towards building strong communities by helping TSA to give hope to other. Kettle Coordinator II position is a short-term contract position. The incumbent is responsible for oversight of several Christmas Kettle locations in a given geographical zone area. Zone locations include shopping malls, grocery stores and retail outlets.**ACCOUNTABILITIES:** The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties. • Attend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign • Provide support in getting Kettles to zone locations prior to volunteer arrival at Campaign onset • Ensure all Kettle donations are delivered to secure location at shift completion • Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to City/Assistant Coordinator • Orient and remind volunteers on proper Kettle handling and duties as required • Supervise, support and assign (as required) Kettle Volunteers throughout the Campaign • Participate in the recruitment of new volunteers • Visit locations during shift changes and intermittently • Communicate daily with ATL partner for effective transition • Ensure timesheets and mileage reports are submitted accurately and timely (weekly basis) • Remain at the Kettle for the full shift (until relieved), ensuring security of donations received. • Respond to questions/queries from potential donors regarding SA ministries and programs. • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.**CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:** Governance Boards and Councils: n/a Internal: TSA staff members, Kettle campaign team External: Community members**MANAGERIAL/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:** Reports directly to the CMO and CO. Direct reports: none. Workflow coordinator.**FINANCIAL AND MATERIAL MANAGEMENT:** • Collect donations and petite cash and ensure donations are always kept secure. The above responsibilities must be discharged in accordance with The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement, in a professional manner, upholding our code of conduct.**WORKING CONDITIONS:** • Work environment is typically in malls/stores • Standing for long periods will be required and exposure to cold weather**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:** • Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities. • Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures. Shifts vary, and will be 20 hours per week. We have 4 part-time openings: 2 for St.Albert, 2 for Stoney Plain and 1 for Spruce Grove**Compensation:**The target hiring range for this position is $18.50 to $23.13 with a maximum of $27.76.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.The Salvation Army will provide reasonable accommodation upon request.
