We're looking to expand our network of talented contractors and are seeking a Junior Web Developer to support website development projects on a project and retainer basis.

The Opportunity

As a Junior Web Developer, you'll work closely with our digital, design, and project management teams to build, maintain, and enhance websites for a diverse range of clients. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in WordPress development who enjoys turning designs into responsive, user-friendly websites.

The successful candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, comfortable working independently, and committed to delivering high-quality digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain WordPress websites using Elementor and other commonly used WordPress tools.
• Convert approved designs and wireframes into responsive web pages.
• Configure website content, layouts, navigation structures, and page templates.
• Support website launches, updates, and ongoing maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot website issues and resolve bugs across desktop and mobile devices.
• Optimize websites for performance, accessibility, and user experience.
• Collaborate with designers, strategists, content creators, and project managers to deliver projects on schedule.
• Follow established development standards, workflows, and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of web development experience.
• Experience building websites using WordPress and Elementor.
• Familiarity with responsive web design principles and modern web standards.
• Experience configuring WordPress plugins and themes.
• Understanding of website hosting environments, domains, and DNS concepts.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and identify practical solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with website accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Experience working with Git version control.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and website performance optimization.
• Experience with WordPress page builders beyond Elementor.
• Exposure to PHP and custom WordPress theme development.

Working Relationship

This is a contractor position with flexible hours based on project requirements. Contractors may be engaged on individual projects, website support retainers, or ongoing development initiatives.
