Job summary

Salas O'Brien in Woodbridge, Ontario seeks a Junior Structural Engineer to join our growing team focused on heavy industrial facilities. You will work with experienced engineers on projects across Canada and the US, assisting with deliverables, calculations, and design documentation.

This role offers mentorship, professional development, and exposure to steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation systems, with opportunities to grow toward P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Approximately 1 to 3 years of relevant engineering experience in heavy industrial sectors such as mining, cement, lime, or pulp and paper.
• Knowledge of structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
• Exposure to SAP2000 or RISA or similar software.
• Familiarity with North American building codes and structural design standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering deliverables, including structural calculations, reports, drawings, and 3D models.
• Support the design and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation systems for industrial and commercial projects.
• Utilize software such as RISA, SAP2000, Revit, and Bluebeam to develop design documentation.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Coordinate project documentation and contribute to project scheduling and execution activities.
