Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Structural Engineer to assist in designing steel, concrete and masonry structures and to analyze capacity of existing structures with reinforcement where required. You will collaborate with senior and junior engineers and participate in design meetings with owners, architects and other consultants.

Field duties include site visits to review work for compliance with drawings and contract documents, supporting residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
• 1-3 years’ experience in structural engineering with focus on analysis and design in buildings.
• Experience with NBCC and CSA standards.
• Field experience on construction sites, writing site reports.

Requirements

• Degree in Structural Engineering from a recognized university
• Preferably 1 - 3 years’ experience in structural engineering with a focus on structural analysis and design in buildings
• Experience with NBCC and CSA standards
• Field experience on construction sites, conducting general reviews for compliance with drawings and specifications, and writing site reports
• Experience with Etabs, SAFE, SAP and other similar structural design software
• Proven ability to work independently with minimum direction
• Commitment and dedication to client service and technical excellence
• Effective communication skills and ability to handle changing needs while working effectively with diverse groups
• Strategic thinking ability to determine required work and draw rational conclusions from available information
• A valid driver’s license is required
