Job summary

Bedcolab, Laval, QC, seeks a Junior Procurement/Planning Specialist to manage purchasing of raw materials and support production planning. This full-time office role covers supplier communication, inventory optimization, and ERP-driven planning.

Qualifications

  • Education or training in procurement, supply chain, or production planning.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Manufacturing experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management systems.
  • Experience with ERP software.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Kanban.
  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure procurement activities are carried out in accordance with the terms and conditions negotiated by the Buyer with suppliers.
  • Manage daily communication and follow-up with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels for parts and materials.
  • Maintain and update MRP/Kanban parameters to optimize inventory levels, costs, and supply reliability.
  • Respond to supplier inquiries and communicate any changes that may impact orders.
  • Ensure continuous follow-up on purchase orders through to delivery.
  • Participate in the monitoring and continuous improvement of internal processes.
  • Take the necessary actions in response to unforeseen events (e.g., production stoppages) to maintain a high level of service.
  • Coordinate activities between the Production Planner and various subcontractors and recommend scheduling adjustments when necessary.
  • Participate in the production planning process.
  • Act as a backup for the Production Planner during their absence.
