Job summary

Aker Solutions in St. John's, NL is seeking a Junior Process Engineer to contribute to offshore oil and gas projects.

You’ll work with the process team to design, analyze, and optimize process equipment and systems, supporting with simulations, technical reports, drawings and specifications. You will collaborate across disciplines, ensure schedules and estimates are met, develop P&IDs, and perform hydraulic sizing, valve sizing, and heat gain calculations to support safe, efficient, and reliable

Qualifications

• Experience reviewing, interpreting, designing and analyzing process equipment and systems for offshore oil and gas.
• Ability to perform process simulation, system analysis and generate technical reports, drawings and specs.
• Collaborative work with multiple engineering disciplines to resolve design and field problems.
• Ability to develop and edit P&IDs and carry out hydraulic sizing and related calculations.

Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, design, and analyze process equipment and systems for offshore oil and gas systems with the support of the team including: process simulation and system analysis, preparation of technical reports, design drawings and specifications.
• Work with other members of the process team, and with other engineering disciplines, through work development; investigating, advising, and resolving design and field engineering problems.
• Assuring compliance with project schedules and control estimates.
• Developing, drafting, redlining, and editing P&IDs.
• Execute process calculations that include line hydraulics and sizing, pressure relief device sizing, control valve sizing, pump sizing, and piping and vessel heat gain.
• Apply research initiatives to develop simulation models.
