Job summary

Province of Nova Scotia invites applications for a two-year Junior Policy Analyst (Intern) to support the Alcohol, Gaming, Fuel & Tobacco division in policy development and regulatory modernization. The role provides hands-on government policy experience and training within a high-performing team.

You will conduct research, draft briefing notes, and contribute to submissions to Executive Council while developing skills across communications and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate from a college diploma or a university bachelor’s degree in a related field within the last 3 years.
  • Ability to conduct policy research, analyze data, and compare options.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis to support AGFT initiatives.
  • Participate in policy and regulatory projects.
  • Prepare reports, jurisdictional scans, briefing notes and communicate information.
  • Assist in preparing submissions to Executive Council.
  • Assist with drafting correspondence to the public and stakeholders.
