Job Description

The networking consultant will engage with a range of stakeholders, including business units, consultants, service providers, and suppliers, and potentially collaborate with other government agencies to drive the following initiatives and tasks:

  • End to end planning of hardware upgrade project;
  • Preparation of planning documents, reports, design documents, implementation plans and other project documents as requested by the Technical Authority;
  • Work with security team to assess security requirements and implement security measures to mitigate risks;
  • Prepare and update documentation for implementation;
  • Administer, operate and maintain these environments/infrastructure following security requirement;
  • Assist the team in routine network operations and handling service tickets as directed by the Technical Authority;
  • Install networking equipment and cabling in a data canter;
  • Follow industry best practices and procedure in execution;
  • Ensure all project documentation is safely stored and is available in document repository as assigned by the Technical Authority;
  • Provide regular updates to the Technical Authority and business units, as well as management on the progress, status and direction of assigned tasks;
  • Attend ad hoc project review meetings with the Departmental Representative, end users, and the management staff, as deemed necessary;
  • Provide periodic written project status reports; and

Give briefings, participate in meetings, field questions, produce reports and give product demonstration.

Qualifications

Mandatory

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as Network Administrator/Engineer.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience (within the last 7 years) as network engineer working with large network Operation & Maintenance.
  • Must hold industry recognized certifications such as, but not limited to, CISCO, Juniper, Palo and Alto.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration and troubleshooting of EIGRP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and L2 protocols
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience (within the last 7 years) in operation, maintenance and deployment of large scale LAN/ WAN technologies (switches, routers, wireless and firewalls) with a knowledge on BGP, OSPF, and MPLS networking.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience (within the last 7 years) working in network security technology including IPSEC, PPTP, SSL, NAT, PAT, VPN and Firewall, etc.
