Job summary

49North is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join the Automated Charting and Encoding (ACE) program. You will help improve data-driven aeronautical charting and encoding systems, solving complex problems with a team of domain experts and software professionals.

The role emphasizes design, coding, testing, deployment, and documentation of high-quality software in a collaborative environment. Security clearance at the secret level is required, with CGP/ITAR assessments, and a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Programming experience in an object-oriented language.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems within budget and on schedule.
• University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous aviation domain exposure is not required but interest is desired.

Role: Jr Software Developer

As a Software Developer with the Automated Charting and Encoding (ACE) program, you will make worldwide flight safer by improving the world’s leading data-driven aeronautical charting and encoding system. You will solve complex problems through hard work, a passion for quality, an inquisitive mind, a team-first approach and an innovative edge. Requirements:

• Programming experience in an object-oriented language
• Knowledge of object-oriented (OOP) design patterns
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to solve complex problems within budget and on schedule
• A University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Previous experience in the Aviation domain and Aircraft navigation concepts and systems is not required - but a keen interest in learning about it, is

The compensation range for this position is $65,600.00 - $90,200 annually. The specific compensation offered will be based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
