Job summary

Mantecon Partners is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering team in Ontario. You will support design and delivery of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building systems on industrial, institutional, healthcare, commercial, and manufacturing projects.

Reporting to senior engineers, you’ll develop your technical skills, learn codes and standards, and contribute to project documentation, field reviews, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to build

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with PEO
• 1–3 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience (consulting/building systems experience is asset)
• Experience with Revit MEP and AutoCAD is strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and ability to travel to project sites as required

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, medical gas, and other mechanical building systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment selections, sizing, and technical analysis under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Prepare and update mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications, schedules, and other project documentation.
• Develop mechanical models and drawings using Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
• Assist with heating and cooling load calculations and other mechanical system calculations.
• Research equipment, materials, codes, standards, and technical requirements.
• Support the development of practical engineering solutions that consider performance, constructability, sustainability, and client requirements.
• Apply applicable codes and standards, including the Ontario Building Code, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA, and other project-specific requirements.
