Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking a Junior Materials Testing Technician based in Winnipeg, Manitoba to contribute to the quality, safety, and durability of essential projects throughout the region. You will deliver concrete field and laboratory testing and support foundation installation monitoring.

The role requires 1–3 years of materials testing experience in concrete, aggregate or asphalt, knowledge of CSA/ASTM test methods, and comfort working outdoors in rugged site conditions.

Qualifications

• Completed Geological, Construction, or Civil Engineering Technology program (or equivalent).
• 1–3 years of materials testing experience in concrete, aggregate, or asphalt.
• Knowledge of CSA, ASTM, and Provincial Test Methods is an asset.
• Comfortable working outdoors for long days and in rugged site conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Holds an unrestricted Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Deliver concrete field and laboratory testing to support safe and compliant construction.
• Conduct aggregate sampling, testing, and analysis for active civil and structural projects.
• Support foundation installation monitoring to verify accurate and safe execution.
• Perform earthworks construction monitoring and document site progress.
• Prepare clear and timely field reports for internal teams and clients.
• Provide dependable client service while working collaboratively within the Ground Engineering team.
• Travel for rotational out‑of‑town work when required, contributing to regional project execution.
