Responsibilities

• Perform construction materials testing & inspection on concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and soils in field and lab settings.
• Conduct concrete field testing, compaction testing, and laboratory testing of soils and aggregates.
• Carry out geotechnical inspections such as pile monitoring and subgrade inspections.
• Obtain core samples from concrete structures and asphalt pavements.
• Support moisture-density gauge operation and maintenance.
• Prepare field and laboratory test reports.
• Mobilize to worksites in a fleet vehicle.
• Contribute to a team of professionals through mentorship and training.

Your Opportunity

The Stantec Geotechnical Group in Winnipeg, MB is seeking three (3) Materials Testing Technicians/Technologists to join our materials testing team. This position will act as support to both our field and laboratory operations in construction materials testing and inspection services. In this role, you will interact with suppliers, producers, contractors, consultants, and owners from the private and public sectors. Your Key Responsibilities

• Perform construction materials testing & inspection services on concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and soils in field and laboratory settings, including but not limited to:
• Concrete field testing
• Compaction testing of soil, aggregate, and asphalt pavement
• Laboratory testing of soil, aggregate, asphalt, and hardened concrete
• Geotechnical inspections such as pile monitoring, subgrade, and proof roll inspections
• Obtaining core samples from concrete structures and asphalt pavement
• Resilient floor testing
• Forensic investigation of concrete structures
• Operating and maintaining moisture-density gauges (class 7 radioactive dangerous good)
• Mobilize to worksite in a fleet vehicle
• Preparation of field and laboratory test reports
