Placements24 is recruiting an eager Junior Information Security Analyst to join a growing security team in Kimberley. You will support monitoring of security alerts, assist with incident response, and contribute to security initiatives while learning best practices in threat detection and prevention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in an IT or security-focused role is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, network concepts, and common threats.
• Proficiency with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from various security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS).
• Assist in the investigation and initial response to security incidents under supervision.
• Help maintain security documentation and procedures.
• Perform basic vulnerability scans and report findings.
• Support the implementation and configuration of security controls.
• Contribute to security awareness efforts within the organization.
