Job summary

Evertz Microsystems, Markham, Ontario, is seeking a Junior FPGA Design Engineer to join the Markham FPGA Design team responsible for developing video/audio processing, routing and transportation products. You will contribute to FPGA/MPSoC-based designs, CPLD designs and IP cores, collaborating with hardware and software engineers to test and debug the design.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in engineering, hands-on FPGA experience with VHDL/Verilog, and familiarity with Vivado or Quartus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or applied science.
• Experience with FPGA and CPLD designs in VHDL or Verilog (VHDL preferred).
• Experience with Vivado and/or Quartus tools.
• Experience with C or C++.
• Excellent revision control habits using Git or Subversion.
• Experience with Linux and Makefile-based workflows.
• Experience with the bash shell.
• Understanding of Static Timing Analysis and Timing Closure techniques.
• Experience with Python, Tcl, and other scripting languages.
• Experience writing test benches and simulating digital designs.
• Experience with in-system debugging of FPGAs.
• Knowledge of clock domain crossing techniques.
• Knowledge of PCIe, Ethernet, AXI4, SPI, I2C, and other protocols.
