You’ll work behind the scenes to deliver well‑researched, accurate, and customized plans that meet the highest internal standards.

  • Review all tax and insurance documents and summarize key findings for the Financial Planner.
  • Build draft plans for review and approval by the Director of Financial Planning.
  • Implement plans using NaviPlan financial planning software.
  • Complete full Financial Life Plans using NaviPlan and RFL planning templates.
  • Integrate tax, investment, and insurance strategies into cohesive, personalized recommendations.
  • Tailor plans specifically for ITPs (Internationally Trained Physicians), including considerations around incorporation and cash flow.
  • Write Financial Life Plans with clear recommendations that address each client’s stated goals.
Insurance Support
  • Create and compare multiple insurance illustrations per case across all major carriers for financial planning, living benefit, and risk management purposes.
  • Ensure all insurance proposals align with the client’s risk tolerance, liquidity needs, and tax planning strategy.
Opportunity Tracking & CRM Maintenance
  • Enter and track all investment and insurance‑related opportunities in the CRM.
  • Review all planning opportunities when preparing Financial Life Plans.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial planning support role.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian investments, insurance products, and financial planning principles.
  • Excellent written communication skills with a sharp attention to detail.
Skills
  • Extensive experience using NaviPlan
  • Able to review tax returns and extract key planning data.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage evolving client information.
  • Proactive in documenting and tracking all changes.
  • Comfortable writing client‑facing plans in a way that’s easy to understand and implement.
  • Proficient in reviewing insurance policies and illustrations.
  • Able to navigate various insurance carrier portals to retrieve product and policy information.
MUST-HAVE Tech Skills
  • Proficient with Windows laptops and able to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word:
    • Troubleshooting layout and formatting issues
    • Using online resources to learn and implement new formatting features
  • Able to troubleshoot and self‑resolve issues related to Microsoft Office, insurance portals, and other commonly used tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel:
    • Understanding of formulas, especially financial functions
    • Formatting and layout customization
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat (PDF handling and editing)

This is a mission‑critical role that enables our client‑facing Financial Planners to focus on what they do best — client conversations and strategic guidance — while you power the plan engine behind the scenes.
