Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology, Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Typically 1 to 2 years of environmental consulting or environmental field experience.
• Recent graduates with relevant coursework, internships, cooperative education, or field training are encouraged to apply.
• Relevant certifications, safety training, or professional development courses are considered assets.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental fieldwork in support of site assessment, remediation, reclamation, decommissioning, and environmental monitoring programs.
• Collect soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and other samples following approved procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Support drilling programs, test pitting investigations, environmental monitoring programs, remedial excavations, and site restoration activities.
• Log and characterize soil conditions, including soil texture, classification, and field observations.
• Operate and maintain environmental monitoring and sampling equipment.
• Record accurate field observations and maintain detailed field documentation using QA/QC procedures.
• Support the preparation of field summaries, technical reports, environmental documentation, and project deliverables.
• Assist with project logistics, scheduling, procurement of supplies, equipment preparation, and contractor coordination.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver environmental consulting services across multiple sectors.
• Participate in remote northern field programs with rotational schedules and isolated environments.
• Build strong working relationships with project teams, contractors, and client representatives.
• Support environmental stewardship initiatives and promote sustainable project outcomes.

Play an integral role in Worley Consulting’s Environmental & Sustainability (E&S) practice, where technical expertise, environmental stewardship, and practical problem solving come together to help clients manage environmental liabilities, restore impacted sites, and support sustainable development. Purpose of the role

As a Junior Environmental Scientist, Engineer in Training, or Environmental Technologist, you will support the delivery of environmental assessment, remediation, reclamation, decommissioning, and monitoring projects. You will play an important role in collecting high-quality environmental data, supporting field investigations, and contributing to technical project deliverables that help clients meet regulatory obligations and environmental performance objectives.

Working collaboratively with environmental scientists, engineers, technologists, project managers, contractors, and clients, you will help deliver safe, efficient, and technically sound solutions while developing practical consulting experience and advancing your professional growth.

Location(s) Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta

This is a full-time position based in Worley Consulting’s Edmonton or Calgary office. The role includes frequent travel throughout Alberta and may involve assignments in the Northwest Territories and other northern or Arctic regions. Field programs may require rotational schedules, remote-site work, extended travel, and work in challenging environmental conditions.

You will be responsible for
