Job summary

Egis Canada is seeking a Junior Environmental Planner to support infrastructure and environmental projects across Ontario and Canada. The role focuses on environmental assessment, permitting, regulatory approvals, stakeholder coordination, and project support within the infrastructure sector.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Environmental Planning, Science, or related field and <3 years of environmental consulting experience. Travel may be required; hybrid work with local office access is available.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Environmental Planning, Science or related field.
  • Less than 3 years of experience in environmental consulting.
  • Knowledge of MTO and Municipal/Class EA processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Environmental Assessment across federal, provincial and municipal frameworks.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and client relationships.
  • Support permitting, stakeholder engagement and regulatory compliance.
  • Delivery of high-quality technical reports and proposals.
  • Assist with project budgets, schedules and financials.

We're looking for a JuniorEnvironmental Plannerto support multidisciplinary infrastructure and environmental projects across Ontario and Canada. This role will focus on environmental assessment, permitting, regulatory approvals, stakeholder coordination, and project support primarily within the infrastructure sector, with experience in mining, rail, and nuclear sectors considered an asset.

The successful candidate will contribute technical and project coordination support throughout various phases of project development, including planning, environmental assessment, permitting, detailed design support, and implementation. The role also includes collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting proposal and business development activities, and contributing to the continued growth of Egis’ environmental planning practice.

  • Assist with Environmental Assessment (EA) across federal, provincial, and municipal frameworks
  • Assist with multidisciplinary project teams and client relationships
  • Assist with permitting, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance
  • Assist in delivering high-quality technical reports and proposals
  • Assist with project budgets, schedules, and financials
  • Degree in Environmental Planning, Science, or a related field
  • < 3 years experience in environmental consulting
  • Knowledge of:
    • MTO & Municipal Class EA
    • Provincial Class or Individual EA
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed
