Job description

We are looking for a recent graduate or early-career professional to join the team as a Junior Database Administrator. In this role, you’ll support Fundserv’s Oracle database environments while developing your technical skills through hands‑on experience, mentorship, and participation in operational and project activities. Success in the role requires initiative, a solid work ethic, strong communication and problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

In this role, you will…

• Assist with the administration, monitoring, and support of Oracle database environments under the guidance of senior team members
• Support Oracle backup, recovery, availability, and routine maintenance activities
• Assist with database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management activities
• Monitor Oracle database performance, space management, and optimization activities under guidance
• Support database changes and deployments across development, UAT, and production environments.
• Author basic SQL, PL/SQL, and automation scripts to improve operational efficiency
• Participate in projects, working closely with agile development teams and other internal teams to support Oracle database requirements, troubleshooting, and tuning.
• Accurately document database standards, procedures, and operational practices
• Participate in a rotational 24/7 on‑call support schedule

Why you are the person we’re looking for…

You’ve demonstrated the ability to do the following, gained through education and/or experience:

• A strong interest in Oracle database administration, including automation, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and database operations.
• Academic or practical exposure to Oracle database technologies, including:
  • Oracle Database (19c and later releases)
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), and monitoring/recovery tools
  • High‑availability and disaster recovery technologies (e.g. Data Guard) and Multi‑tenant architecture
  • Oracle Exadata and cloud database platforms
  • TOAD and other database administration, development, and query tools
• Show initiative, take ownership of tasks, and are eager to learn and grow into greater responsibility over time
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and time management skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Target total compensation including bonus: $74,750 - $86,250

(starting base salary of $65,000 - $75,000)
