Job summary

Sanofi in Toronto, ON is seeking a junior Data Engineer to support AI/ML initiatives by building and maintaining data pipelines. You will collaborate with data scientists, analysts and product teams to turn business needs into robust data assets.

You will work on SQL databases, data models, and ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data quality and governance while adopting a fast-paced, collaborative Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering with 1–2 years of experience.
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Experience with data models and query tuning.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and Agile processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements and translate them into data needs.
• Gather and organize large data assets; perform analysis.
• Ensure data quality with Data Analysts and Data Scientists.
• Propose and implement data models for business cases.
• Create data models and optimize queries performance.
• Communicate results in a structured way.
• Prioritize pipeline implementation with Product Owner.
• Design pipelines that meet business requirements.
