Job summary

The Jr. Cost Analyst at Cleveland Range Ltd.

will join the Finance and Accounting team in Vaughan, reporting to the Plant Controller and supporting cost, inventory, and month-end activities. You will analyze standard costs vs actual costs, prepare cost reports, assist with audits, intercompany reconciliations, and physical inventories, using Excel and ERP systems to drive accurate reporting and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or equivalent related experience.
  • 0–2 years of accounting, finance, costing experience preferred; entry-level candidates with strong Excel and accounting fundamentals will be considered.
  • Intermediate MS Excel skill is mandatory, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, and large data sets.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when compiling, validating, and reporting financial information.
  • Ability to organize work, meet recurring reporting deadlines, and follow defined procedures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of management and staff.
  • ERP experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred for success in the role.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze standard costs versus actual costs to identify variances and support corrective action where required.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze cost reports, costing audits, and profitability-related data by product and/or customer.
  • Compile data and prepare statistical, financial, inventory, and ad-hoc reports for management review.
  • Support month-end close activities, including the preparation and posting of assigned month-end entries.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reporting such as weekly inventory reports and other operational finance reports as required.
  • Assist with year-end tasks, including intercompany reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory counts and support inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Review unusual cost records and verify that cost data is allocated accurately and consistently.
  • Follow established processes, procedures, and workflows in alignment with corporate guidelines and internal/external requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Business Line managers to obtain, validate, and explain cost-related information.

Job description

Position Summary

The Jr. Cost Analyst supports the Finance and Accounting team by analyzing actual costs against standard costs, identifying variances, and preparing timely cost and inventory-related reporting. The role assists with cost audits, cost data validation, month-end accounting entries, and routine financial reporting that supports business decision-making. This position is well suited for an early-career accounting professional who is highly accurate, comfortable working with data, and interested in building cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.


This role reports to the Plant Controller and is based in Concord, Vaughan. It is 100% based in office.


Key Responsibilities


  • Analyze standard costs versus actual costs to identify variances and support corrective action where required.

  • Prepare, review, and analyze cost reports, costing audits, and profitability-related data by product and/or customer.

Nice to Have


  • Manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • CPA in progress.

  • QAD ERP exposure is a plus.


Working Relationships and Environment


  • Key working relationships include Finance and Accounting management and staff, Operations teams, and Business Line managers.

  • Work is generally performed in a typical office environment. The role may require standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods and may involve participation in physical inventory counts.

Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually


Salary Range: $65K – $70K / yr


Operation hours: Monday - Friday from 9AM - 5PM.
