Job summary

EXP Services Inc. in North Bay, Ontario is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer/EIT to support infrastructure projects. Based at our North Bay office, you will assist with design tasks, Civil 3D drafting, and coordination with clients and regulators to move projects through approvals.

You bring an undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering, a P.Eng. or EIT in Ontario, and at least two years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Civil 3D and MS Office is required. Salary range CAD 60k–75k.

Qualifications

• P.Eng. or EIT in Ontario is required.
• Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
• Knowledge of Civil 3D.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Participate and perform design tasks including AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting for infrastructure projects (watermains, sewers, grading, stormwater).
• Support the project manager to liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders through approvals.
• Collaborate on project schedules and budgets.
• Assist in detail design of Civil/Siteworks infrastructure and project management.
• Oversee contractor compliance with contractual requirements and document inspections.
• Take accurate measurements to ensure payments reflect work performed.
• Perform Contract Administrator and site inspection tasks.

In this role you will be based out of our North Bay, Ontario Office.

Responsibilities include:

• Participate and perform design tasks including AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting in the design of infrastructure projects including watermains, storm and sanitary sewers, grading, and storm water management
• Support the design project manager to liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and other project stakeholders to guide projects through the approval processes
• Collaborate with the design project manager on project schedules and budgets
• Collaborate on fundamentals of detail design of Civil/Siteworks infrastructure work and project management
• Oversee, document, review, and assess contractor’s compliance with contractual requirements
• Take accurate and detailed measurements of all work performed by the contractor to ensure accurate payments for work performed
• Perform Contract Administrator and Inspection tasks in preparing various site reports

Required Qualifications include:

• Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) Or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Ontario is required
• Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience
• Knowledge of Civil 3D
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
