Job summary

EXP Huntsville, ON invites a Senior Civil Engineer (P.Eng) to lead land development and municipal infrastructure projects, using Civil 3D to design roads, sewers, watermains and site plans. You will coordinate with clients, contractors, and authorities to ensure projects meet technical and regulatory requirements.

You will mentor junior staff, help grow the infrastructure business, manage budgets and schedules, and contribute to winning new work through strong proposals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years relevant and demonstrated civil engineering experience.
• Candidate must be a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
• Proven track record of developing relationships, writing and reviewing competitive proposals.
• Experience working with clients in both the public and private sectors.
• Leadership experience and people management skills.
• Knowledge of Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the successful delivery of land development and municipal infrastructure projects to Clients, through the planning, design, construction, and maintenance periods of residential, industrial, and/or commercial developments.
• Foster long-term relationships with Clients and ensure Client satisfaction throughout project life cycle.
• Project scope, budget, and schedule control for development projects.
• Mentor and develop junior staff in the office.
• Obtain all necessary approvals and permits for projects, including those from municipalities, provincial (Ontario) and federal government agencies.
• Ensure quality control and design standards and compliance is maintained from inception to completion.
• Coordination with multiple stakeholders (e.g., clients, contractors, approving agencies, planners, other consultants, residents, etc.) as necessary to meet project objectives.
• Proven experience in facilitating and promoting a climate of internal collaboration of work share between different internal disciplines.
• Meeting internal business metrics and targets; as well as ongoing business development activities with existing and new clients.

EXP is currently searching for a Senior Civil Engineer for our North Bay or Huntsville, ON Office. The environment is fast-paced, and growth orientated, ideally suited for individuals who like to take charge and are driven to build on current successes. The Manager will be required to develop and mentor junior staff, grow the infrastructure business, and take on a lead role in their discipline.

Your Responsibilities

• Candidate must be a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
• Possess proven track record of developing relationships, writing, and reviewing competitive proposals.
• Experience working with clients in both the public and private sectors.
• Leadership experience and people management skills, including the ability to develop staff and manage teams in a changing environment is an asset.
• Strategic, analytical and practical thinker.
• Ability to analyze challenges/issues and determine priorities in an environment of tight and conflicting deadlines.
• Solid client development and management skills.
• Help to attract, grow, and retain top talent.
• Knowledge of Civil 3D.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Valid Ontario driver's license.
