Job summary

Magellan Aerospace, Winnipeg, is seeking an Entry-Level Chemist to join our Rockwood Propellant Plant team. This full-time position offers hands-on analytics, QC, and collaboration with internal groups to ensure materials and formulations meet specifications.

The ideal candidate holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry, has strong written and verbal communication skills, and is eager to contribute to R&D initiatives in a manufacturing setting. Relocation not required.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining standards and procedures for analytical methodologies and techniques using standard quality control to computerized instrumentation.
• Performing quantitative and qualitative analyses to determine chemical and physical properties for all related inorganic and organic raw materials and formulations.
• Assisting in originating and evaluating new R&D programs, materials and processes.
• Liaising with external technical agencies, suppliers and customers or internal support groups to improve or resolve problems related to materials, processes and formulations, and their associated instrumentation and testing.
• Providing guidance and assistance to other chemists and technologists.
• Managing energetic and inert formulations to ensure product compliance with specifications.
