Job summary

WSP is seeking a Junior Building Science Consultant in Canada to evaluate and restore building envelope assemblies. You will work with experienced engineers on projects that improve performance and sustainability of buildings nationwide.

The role emphasizes applying building science knowledge, assisting with condition evaluations, site reports, and contract administration, while developing hands-on skills in a supportive, innovative environment that values growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering, Building Sciences, Architectural Science, or Applied Science.
• Passion for building sciences, building envelope technology, or building construction.
• 1–2 years of previous work experience in Building Science or related field.
• Co-op or summer work experience in construction/engineering related to buildings is ideal.
• Collaborative team player, energetic and adaptable to shifting priorities.
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
• Valid Canadian driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering knowledge to building envelope restoration and capital planning projects.
• Assist engineers with building envelope condition evaluations and site reports.
• Conduct construction and site reviews, monitoring the quality of building repairs.
• Liaise with contractors, sub-consultants, and other engineering disciplines.
• Contribute to contract administration on construction projects.
• Take responsibility for project tasks, deliverables, and outcomes.
• Apply sustainable thinking and practices within project delivery.
• Contribute to knowledge systems within the building science practice.
