Job summary

Convergint is seeking a Junior BAS Technician to support field installation, startup, and troubleshooting of building automation systems at our Toronto, ON location. You will gain hands-on experience across HVAC control, energy management, lighting, and security systems.

You will collaborate with design and service teams, prepare documentation, and follow safety and regulatory guidelines to ensure high-quality work for diverse client sites.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, electronics, mechatronics, or related program.
  • Exposure to HVAC, electronic, and/or building automation would be an asset.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (citizenship, permanent residency, or work permit).
  • Valid driver’s license (G2 or higher) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, and troubleshoot Building Systems including HVAC Control, Energy Management, Lighting Control and Security.
  • Perform job start-ups and checkouts on site following safety procedures.
  • Prepare submittal and As-Built documentation with MS Office and Visio in collaboration with design/service teams.
  • Provide technical support to end users and seek guidance from experienced staff as needed.
  • Adhere to provincial/local regulations and company health and safety policies.

Convergint is currently recruiting for a Junior BAS Technician join our growing team in our Toronto, ON location. As a Junior BAS Technician, you will be responsible for providing hands‑on exposure to field installation, troubleshooting, system start‑up, and project support, all while helping the successful candidate build practical experience in Building Automation Systems.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”
  • Work on new construction sites and existing customer sites installing, programming and troubleshooting Building Systems including HVAC Control, Energy Management, Lighting Control and Security systems.
  • Follows clear instructions when performing job start‑ups and checkouts on job sites to work safely.
  • Work in office with design and service departments to prepare submittal and As‑Built documentation using MS Office and Visio.
  • Provide technical support to end users when applicable. Proactively seeks technical guidance from more experienced staff for difficult and unusual situations.
  • Execute all work in accordance with provincial and local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times.
  • Performs other office duties as requested and required (warehouse, administration, sales assistance)
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, electronics, mechatronics, or related program.
  • Exposure to HVAC, electronic, and/or building automation would be an asset.
  • Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada (for example, by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or work permit).
  • Valid driver’s license (G2 or higher) is required.
