What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”
  • Installs, programs & tests a variety of non‑routine building automation systems and equipment; serves as the key interface for technical support and training, ensuring customer satisfaction and transferring more complex issues to higher levels.
  • Reads blueprints, schematics, manuals and specifications to determine installation procedures; interprets wiring diagrams and repairs equipment using electronics knowledge and standard test instruments.
  • Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commissions new systems, analyzes performance, identifies malfunctions and writes non‑routine programs.
  • Consults with supervisors to resolve unusual system operation, maintenance and warranty issues.
  • Advises management on customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques and standards, and proposes product improvements.
  • Executes technical aspects of multiple projects—including programming, graphics development, start‑up, certification testing, customer training, close‑out documentation and ongoing support—within varying timelines and budgets.
  • Identifies potential project risks, communicates with stakeholders, and helps develop strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and deadlines.
  • Collaborates with Project Managers or supervisors to coordinate specific projects; recommends quality improvements and changes in scope to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Completes accurate, detailed service reports for customers and Convergint to enable invoicing and job‑cost tracking.
  • Provides technical support to end users when applicable, seeking guidance from experienced staff or vendors when necessary.
  • Acts as a mentor to staff, offering guidance in testing, tuning and adjusting equipment for optimal performance.
  • Ensures Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service at all times.
What You’ll Need
  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; determine customer needs without prompting.
  • Solid technical skills with experience in electronic security systems.
  • Strong programming skills and a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Self‑starter who works well with general supervision.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude; proficiency with hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, and crimper.
  • Frequent on‑site visits required; minimal overnight travel; valid driver’s license.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple service demands simultaneously.
  • Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Requirements
  • Minimum of three to five years of BAS project experience.
  • Diploma in Electronics preferred.
  • Industry‑specific certifications such as Schneider, Distech, Alerton, Tridium or Honeywell.
