Job summary

Convergint is seeking a Junior BAS Technician to join our team in Toronto, ON. You will gain hands-on exposure to field installation, system start-up, and project support while building practical experience in Building Automation Systems.

You will work with HVAC control, energy management, lighting control and security systems, collaborating with design and service teams to prepare documentation and ensure safe operation on site.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in HVAC or related field is required or highly preferred.
  • Exposure to HVAC, electronic systems, or building automation is advantageous.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (citizenship, PR, or work permit).
  • Valid driver’s license (G2 or higher) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program and troubleshoot Building Systems including HVAC Control, Energy Management, Lighting Control and Security on new and existing sites.
  • Prepare submittal and As‑Built documentation in collaboration with design and service teams using MS Office and Visio.
  • Provide technical support to end users and seek guidance from senior staff when needed.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and regulations; act as the customer’s best service provider at all times.
  • Assist with warehouse, administration, and sales support as required.

Convergint is currently recruiting for a Junior BAS Technician join our growing team in our Toronto, ON location. As a Junior BAS Technician, you will be responsible for providing hands‑on exposure to field installation, troubleshooting, system start‑up, and project support, all while helping the successful candidate build practical experience in Building Automation Systems.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”
  • Work on new construction sites and existing customer sites installing, programming and troubleshooting Building Systems including HVAC Control, Energy Management, Lighting Control and Security systems.
  • Follows clear instructions when performing job start‑ups and checkouts on job sites to work safely.
  • Work in office with design and service departments to prepare submittal and As‑Built documentation using MS Office and Visio.
  • Provide technical support to end users when applicable. Proactively seeks technical guidance from more experienced staff for difficult and unusual situations.
  • Execute all work in accordance with provincial and local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times.
  • Performs other office duties as requested and required (warehouse, administration, sales assistance).
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, electronics, mechatronics, or related program.
  • Exposure to HVAC, electronic, and/or building automation would be an asset.
  • Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada (for example, by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or work permit).
  • Valid driver’s license (G2 or higher) is required.
