Rise People, Inc. in Richmond invites a numbers-driven student to join our Accounting team as a Junior Accountant Co-op starting January 2027. This 20-hours-per-week role blends classroom learning with real-world practice in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll handle full-cycle AP, assist with reconciliations, support monthly and year-end closes, and collaborate with a supportive team. This is a great entry point to build your resume while studying.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary accounting or finance program and in your 4th year.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Self-starter with excellent attention to detail and time management.

Responsibilities

  • Handle full-cycle accounts payable.
  • Ensure timely and accurate bank payments.
  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and account schedules.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closings.
  • Collaborate with team to meet critical financial deadlines.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Contribute to audits by verifying financial transactions and documents.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and data confidentiality.

Are you a numbers-driven student with a passion for precision and a curiosity for how finance powers a business? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Accountant Co-op to join our dynamic Accounting team at our Richmond head office starting January 2027!

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world accounting experience in a collaborative, supportive, and fast-paced environment. You’ll work approximately 20 hours per week while balancing your studies — perfect for someone eager to apply classroom learning to meaningful work.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Handling full-cycle accounts payable
  • Ensuring timely and accurate bank payments
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and preparing account schedules
  • Supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closings
  • Collaborating with team members to meet critical financial deadlines
  • Reconciling accounts payable and receivable
  • Contributing to audits by verifying financial transactions and documents
  • Ensuring compliance with financial policies, regulations, and data confidentiality
  • Taking on additional projects and duties as needed — no two days are the same!
