Fitness World Canada located in Richmond, BC, is seeking a Junior Accountant Co-op to join our Finance team. You will support the accounting function while balancing studies, working about 20 hours per week starting January 2027.

The role offers hands-on experience in accounts payable, reconciliations, and closings within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This is an excellent entry point for students pursuing accounting or finance.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a post-secondary accounting or finance program and in your 4th year.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; pivot tables a plus.
• Self-starter with excellent attention to detail and time management.
• Eager to learn, adaptable, and thrive in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Handle full-cycle accounts payable.
• Ensure timely and accurate bank payments.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and account schedules.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
• Collaborate with team to meet financial deadlines.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Contribute to audits by verifying transactions and documents.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations and data confidentiality.
• Support database backup processes.
