Job description

You will

• Prepares journal entries of Income Producing Property (IPP) accounting of multiple properties, with a focus on our Commercial and Residential Rental asset classes
• Complete ad hoc projects as required
• Prepare reconciliations of general ledger accounts
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Liaise with property, leasing and asset management to obtain required information
• Prepare year end working papers and liaise with auditors
• Assist with preparing monthly financials, working papers, cash flow statements and asset summaries
• Oversee the AP and AR cycle for the assigned portfolio

Cash Management

• Ensure that the properties in the portfolio have enough working capital to cover payables
• Assist with distributions and funding requests

Budgets/Forecast

• Assist with annual property budgets

You have

• A Bachelor of Business/Commerce, major in Accounting, or A Diploma in accounting, enrollment in CPA program is a plus
• 2+ years of experience in Accounting
• Experience with property accounting (preferably with commercial and multifamily rental)
• A proven ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment
• A willingness to learn, great time management skills and a high degree of energy, work ethic and are detail oriented
• Strong computer skills with competency in Excel, Word and Yardi Voyager
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills

Salary range

$65,000 - $75,000, based on experience and qualifications
