Job description

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries for Income Producing Property (IPP) accounting of multiple properties, focusing on Commercial and Residential Rental asset classes.
• Complete ad hoc projects as required.
• Prepare reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
• Liaise with property, leasing, and asset management teams to obtain required information.
• Prepare year-end working papers and liaise with auditors.
• Assist with preparing monthly financials, working papers, cash flow statements, and asset summaries.
• Oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable cycle for the assigned portfolio.

Cash Management

• Ensure properties in the portfolio have sufficient working capital to cover payables.
• Assist with distributions and funding requests.

Budgets and Forecasting

• Assist with annual property budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Business/Commerce, major in Accounting, or a Diploma in Accounting; enrollment in CPA program is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in Accounting.
• Experience with property accounting, preferably with commercial and multifamily rentals.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn, excellent time management, high energy, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Yardi Voyager.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Salary Range

$65,000 - $75,000, based on experience and qualifications.
