A leading mining company in Canada seeks a Jumbo Operator for the North Mine. You will operate boom jumbos for drilling and blasting while ensuring a safe working environment. The ideal candidate has over three years of Jumbo experience and a commitment to safety protocols. This role offers a 7 days on, 7 days off rotation and comprehensive benefits including health and dental care.

Qualifications

• 3 years or more experience with Jumbo.
• 1 year of experience on a scoop.
• 1 year of experience installing services.
• 1 year of experience loading and blasting rounds.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and wash down the working area, checking for misfires
• The ability to read and understand the ground support management plan and carry a copy of the current heading ground support plan into the heading.
• Conduct face prep prior to drilling rounds
• Ability to read and follow survey memos, mark up offsets line and grade.
• Ability to read and follow engineered drill profiles (Approved site standards)
• Perform minor repairs, such as changing shanks, couplings and hoses.
• Complete daily checklists/pre‑starts on equipment and submit written and verbal reports to supervisor.
• Maintain working area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Must be able to follow proper procedure to ensure safety and to control equipment damage

• Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
• Following Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions
• Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required in the performance of the work.
• Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet.
• Comply with the Act and Mining Regulations that apply to the work area.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

• 3 years or more experience with Jumbo
• 1 year of experience on a scoop
• 1 year of experience installing services
• 1 year of experience loading and blasting rounds.

Knowledge Required

• Demonstrated ability to read mine plans and specifications for underground mining.
• Demonstrate how to turn corners using offsets
• Ability to multi task and work effectively
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
• Respectful of cultural differences
