Job summary

Springboard is seeking a Manager, Justice Services in Toronto, ON to lead a portfolio of youth and adult justice programs. You will oversee 24/7 open custody/detention initiatives and community services, guiding strategic planning, program evaluation, and stakeholder engagement.

Advanced leadership in non-profit settings, strong knowledge of CYFSA/YCJA, and experience with budgets and funders are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Organizational Leadership: develop and achieve departmental goals aligned with the strategic plan; contribute to agency-wide initiatives; lead and participate in meetings, planning sessions, and trainings; support an internal culture aligned with Springboard’s values
  • Administration and Professional Development: manage departmental contracts, budgets, and expenditures; support policies and procedures in a unionized environment; guide program and operational goals; contribute to evaluation, data collection, and quality improvement; participate in special projects and service expansions; perform other responsibilities as assigned

Overview

Manager, Justice Services is a leadership role responsible for the operational leadership and strategic development of a portfolio of programs and projects serving youth and adults involved in – or at risk of involvement in – the justice system. This includes oversight of a 24/7 open custody/detention program and multiple community-based justice services. The role contributes to strategic planning, program evaluation, communications, fund development, and risk management as part of the senior leadership team.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Post-secondary education in social work, community development, or a related field
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in social services, ideally within youth and/or adult justice, or related community settings

Knowledge/Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years’ leadership experience across multiple programs in a non-profit setting
  • Strong knowledge of youth and adult justice systems, legislation, processes, and service landscapes; understanding of how systemic inequities affect access and outcomes
  • Experience engaging diverse populations with a culturally responsive and affirming lens
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting teams with reflective supervision that fosters staff wellbeing, autonomy, and accountability
  • Experience overseeing live-in and/or community-based programs in youth or adult justice contexts
  • Understanding of licensing requirements, compliance standards, and working in unionized settings
