Job summary

BVGlazing Systems is seeking a Window Wall Designer to join the Research and Design team in Concord, ON. You will design, detail and document window wall systems using 2D CAD and 3D Autodesk Inventor, supporting both residential and commercial projects for North America.

You will generate shop and fabrication drawings, coordinate changes, and assist the design team from concept to installation. A collaborative environment, competitive benefits, and a strong focus on health and safety are

• Experience designing and detailing window wall or building envelope components.
• Ability to generate shop drawings, fabrication drawings and records of change.
• Proficiency with 2D CAD and 3D modelling software to support manufacturing and installation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare shop and site instructions, fabrication drawings, machining drawings.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to release changes and updates.
• Update technical documentation for operable vents and doors.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Window Wall Designer to join our Research and Design team and create innovative solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for designing, detailing, and documenting various systems and products using 2D CAD, 3D modelling software and other tools. BVGlazing is looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual to join our Research and Design team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Implementing general changes in design / processes;
• Trackingthe release of all modifications made on various systems / products
• Generate shop and site instructions, fabrication drawings, machining drawings, and record of change notices;
• Co-ordination between departments before and after release of record of change notices
• Updating documentation relating to operable vents, sliding /terrace doors and other products
• Assist in shop related activities within a collaborative setting
• Assist in taking organic designs from customer vision to commercialization
• Prepare detailing in 2D AutoCAD and 3D modelling with Inventor
• Assist design team in assembling first off mock-ups of new products and concepts;
• Assist on shop floor with design related issues

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Contribute to the design and implementation of window and glazing systems.
• Prepare shop and site instructions, fabrication drawings, machining drawings, and Records of Change Notices.
• Assist in assembling first-off mock-ups and prototypes for new products and concepts.
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD and develop 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
• Provide design and technical support to resolve issues encountered on the shop floor.
• Track and coordinate the release of product modifications across various systems and products.
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure a smooth transition from design through to manufacturing and install.
• Create, maintain, and update technical documentation for operable vents, sliding/terrace doors, and other products.
• Assist in transforming customer concepts and design visions into commercially viable products.

Salary Range

$50,000 – $65,000
