Job summary

BV Glazing is seeking a Window Wall Designer in Concord, Ontario to join our Research and Design team. You will design, detail, and document window systems using 2D CAD and 3D modelling tools.

You’ll develop shop drawings, support cross-functional teams, and contribute to product commercialization from concept to installation. A hands-on, collaborative mindset and proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor are essential.

Qualifications

• Design and implement window and glazing systems using CAD tools.
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Coordinate release of modifications across teams.
• Prepare shop and site fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Track release of modifications across systems and products.
• Generate shop and site instructions, fabrication drawings, machining drawings, and Records of Change Notices.
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure a smooth transition from design through to manufacturing and install.
• Develop 2D drawings using AutoCAD and 3D models using Inventor.
• Assist in assembling first-off mock-ups and prototypes for new products.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Window Wall Designer to join our Research and Design team and create innovative solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for designing, detailing, and documenting various systems and products using 2D CAD, 3D modelling software and other tools. BVGlazing is looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual to join our Research and Design team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Tracking the release of all modifications made on various systems / products
• Generate shop and site instructions, fabrication drawings, machining drawings, and record of change notices;
• Co-ordination between departments before and after release of record of change notices
• Updating documentation relating to operable vents, sliding /terrace doors and other products
• Assist in shop related activities within a collaborative setting
• Assist in taking organic designs from customer vision to commercialization
• Prepare detailing in 2D AutoCAD and 3D modelling with Inventor
• Assist design team in assembling first off mock-ups of new products and concepts;
• Assist on shop floor with design related issues

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Contribute to the design and implementation of window and glazing systems.
• Prepare shop and site instructions, fabrication drawings, machining drawings, and Records of Change Notices.
• Assist in assembling first-off mock-ups and prototypes for new products and concepts.
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD and develop 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
• Provide design and technical support to resolve issues encountered on the shop floor.
• Track and coordinate the release of product modifications across various systems and products.
• Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure a smooth transition from design through to manufacturing and install.
• Create, maintain, and update technical documentation for operable vents, sliding/terrace doors, and other products.
• Assist in transforming customer concepts and design visions into commercially viable products.

Salary Range $50,000 – $65,000
