Job summary

Canadian Kraft Paper Industries Ltd in The Pas is seeking a Journeyman Pipefitter to join our maintenance team. You will fabricate and assemble piping, hydrotest and install pipe spools, measure, cut and thread pipe, and install supports, valves, piping and control systems in a unionized facility.

Qualified candidates will have Red Seal Certification or be a 4th year apprentice, strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematics.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Pipefitter Red Seal Certification or 4th year apprenticeship.
• Proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate/assemble piping and valves.
• Hydrotest, assemble and install pipe spools.

• Replace worn components and reactivate systems.
• Other duties as requested.

Overview

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Journeyman Pipefitter’s responsibilities will include:

• Fabricate/Assemble piping and valves
• Hydrotest, assemble and install pipe spools in the facility
• Measure, cut, and thread pipe
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
• Other duties as requested

Qualifications

• Journeyman Pipefitter Red Seal Certification/4th year Apprentice
• Proven mechanical and trouble shooting skills
• Prefer 3 years’ experience
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to assemble equipment and follow work procedures & processes
• Ability to work independently and take initiatives
• Strong work ethic and safety record
• Strong interpersonal skills; both verbal and written communication required
