Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a skilled maintenance mechanic to service mixer trucks and related equipment. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs to manufacturer standards, and test equipment for proper performance. The role requires physical stamina and adherence to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Valid provincial journeyman certification; CVIP license is an asset.
  • Technical proficiency with transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics on mixer trucks.
  • Understands DOT inspection requirements and adheres to maintenance programs.
  • Capable of physically demanding tasks including lifting, heights, confined spaces.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital tools for documentation and diagnostics.

Job description

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lubricate and perform breakdown maintenance and scheduled repairs of mixer trucks and other equipment as required to achieve optimum performance.
  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose problems.
  • Ensure that all equipment repairs are performed accurately to the manufacturer standards.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Perform other miscellaneous mechanical and maintenance duties as assigned.
What Are We Looking For
  • Holds a valid provincial or Red Seal Journeyman certification; CVIP license is considered an asset
  • Demonstrates technical proficiency with transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, and other components on mixer trucks
  • Understands DOT inspection requirements and adheres to formal maintenance programs
  • Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks including lifting, kneeling, working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital tools for documentation and diagnostics
Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination and background check.

Work Environment

Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
