Job summary

DILFO is hiring a Journeyperson – Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (313A) to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize HVAC and refrigeration systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial sites in Ottawa. You will ensure reliability, performance, and client satisfaction through timely service and high workmanship.

The role requires a CoQ 313A, G1 license, and at least 5 years of service experience, with a valid Ontario driver’s license.

Qualifications

• CoQ 313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic required.
• Gas Technician License (G1) required.
• Minimum 5 years in service/maintenance.
• Ontario G class license with insurable driving record.
• Experience with commercial/industrial HVAC/refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls to diagnose and repair HVAC/refrigeration issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and component replacement.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Repair or replace compressors, valves, motors, sensors.
• Recharge refrigerants and verify system operation.
• Prepare service reports and recommendations for clients.
• Communicate with clients about performance and needs.
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours calls.
• Mentor apprentices and junior technicians.
