Introduction

Ledcor Highways Ltd. (LHL) is hiring Heavy Equipment Technicians/Mechanics who value stability, safety, and teamwork. If you enjoy troubleshooting and repairing mobile equipment and want to help maintain Alberta’s highways, consider joining our team.

Responsibilities

1. Perform maintenance and repair of heavy construction and maintenance equipment such as plow/sanding trucks, loaders, and support gear.
2. Follow manufacturer and internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures.
3. Participate in Ledcor safety policies and procedures.
4. Complete maintenance records and documentation as required.

Qualifications

1. Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (On-Road & Off-Road).
2. Experience with heavy civil construction, highway paving, or highway maintenance equipment (e.g., snowplows) is an asset.
3. CVIP mechanic license is an asset.
4. Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
5. Valid Driver’s License with a 3-year driver’s abstract.
6. Ability to understand and follow instructions, including sketches and diagrams.
7. Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Work Conditions

1. Work is based in various locations across Alberta, with occasional travel to field operations.
2. Preference may be given to local applicants.
3. On-call duties may be required due to weather conditions.
4. Benefits include Health, Dental, RSP, and Pension through CLAC.

Rates & Premiums

1. Base hourly rate of $46.18/hour.
2. Skilled trade premium of $3/hour in Fox Creek, Valleyview, Hinton, Whitecourt.
3. Skilled trade premium of $5/hour in the Grande Prairie region.
