Ledcor Highways Ltd. is seeking Heavy Equipment Technicians/Mechanics for various locations across Alberta. This role involves maintaining and repairing heavy construction equipment to ensure the safety of Alberta’s highways. Ideal candidates will possess a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification and have a strong ability to work independently.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Perform maintenance and repair of heavy construction and maintenance equipment such as plow/sanding trucks, loaders, and light support gear
2. Follow manufacturer and internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures
3. Engage in and adhere to Ledcor safety policies and procedures
4. Complete maintenance records and documentation as required

Qualifications:

1. Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (On-Road & Off-Road)
2. Experience with heavy civil construction, highway paving, or highway maintenance equipment (e.g., snowplows) is an asset
3. CVIP mechanic license is an asset
4. Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
5. Valid Driver’s License with a 3-year driver’s abstract
6. Strong ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including sketches and diagrams
7. Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

Work Conditions:

1. Work is based in various locations across Alberta, with occasional travel to field operations
2. Preference may be given to local applicants due to the nature of the work
3. On-call duties may be required due to weather conditions
4. Comprehensive benefits through CLAC, including Health, Dental, RSP, and Pension

Rates & Premiums:

1. Base hourly rate of $46.18/hour
2. Skilled trade premium of $3/hour in Fox Creek, Valleyview, Hinton, Whitecourt
3. Skilled trade premium of $5/hour in Grande Prairie
