Job summary

West Edmonton Mall is seeking a Parks Journeyperson Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across the Parks and Attractions, including Galaxyland, World Waterpark, DSA, and Aquariums. You will support safe operation of rides, lighting, and controls.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting PLCs, new installations per code, lighting upkeep, and annual ride inspections.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of electrical maintenance experience in industrial or amusement environments.
Experience with electronics, PLCs and control systems is an asset.
Proficient with aerial lifts, power tools, multimeters and megger testing.
Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and varied environmental conditions.
Physically capable of lifting 10–100 lbs.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making under time pressure.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on rides and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safety.
Troubleshoot ride control systems and read electrical schematics.
Carry out new electrical installations per Alberta Electrical Code.
Maintain and replace lighting throughout Parks & Attractions.
Work with pump motor controls and ride-specific electronics.
Conduct electrical repairs for park equipment.
Operate aerial lifts and work safely at heights and in confined spaces.
Participate in annual ride inspections and documentation.
Follow safety protocols and mall policies.
Other duties as assigned.
