Kristian Electric is seeking an Overhead Crane Service Technician to join our Calgary branch. You will service, troubleshoot, and install overhead cranes and hoists, maintaining schedules and customer requests in a fast-paced shop environment.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years or 8,000 hours of crane experience, holds a Journeyman Electrician or Millwright credential, and is safety focused. Valid driver's license and forklift certification are required.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years or 8,000 hours of crane service/inspection experience.
Journeyman Electrician or Millwright credential.
High School diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of overhead cranes and equipment.
Assist in installation of overhead cranes and related equipment.
Conduct full inspections of crane systems, hoists, and accessories at customer facilities.
Troubleshoot equipment to diagnose deficiencies and determine repairs.
Repair or replace defective parts and components.
Clean, lubricate, adjust and maintain lifting equipment.
Service attachments and working tools.
Out-of-town work may be required within Alberta and BC.

Role Summary

Kristian Electric is looking for an Overhead Crane Service Technician to join our Calgary branch. As a Crane Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and the installation of overhead cranes and hoists. The successful candidate will be:

Key Responsibilities

Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of overhead cranes and equipment
Assisting in the installation of overhead cranes and corresponding equipment
Conducting full inspections of overhead crane systems, electric hoists, and manual hoists at customer facilities
Troubleshooting equipment to diagnose deficiencies and determine repairs required
Repairing or replacing defective parts
Cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and performing other maintenance work on lifting equipment
Servicing attachments and working tools.
May require out of town work within Alberta and BC boundaries

Educational Requirements

Must have a minimum of 4 years or 8,000 hours of documented overhead crane service and/or inspection experience.
Journeyman Electrician or Millwright
High School diploma or GED equivalent

Experience And Qualifications Required

Must be comfortable working at heights
Ability to work varied hours, overtime and on call if needed
Must have valid driver’s license and a driver’s abstract, evidencing a minimum of 3 years clean driving record and a non-graduated driver’s license.
Must be safety oriented
Training: CSTS, Fall Arrest, Scissor Lift, Forklift, Crane Operator Training.
Experience operating forklifts with valid forklift certification
