Job summary

Golderado Contracting Corp is hiring a Journeyman Electrician in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. The role involves interpreting electrical code specifications, reading drawings, testing equipment, and maintaining industrial electrical systems.

You will work with a team, prioritizing safety and quality while meeting project deadlines. Hours are project-dependent with a 40-hour minimum weekly schedule; overtime may be required during peak season.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician Certification or equivalent is required.
• At least 2-3 years working as a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent experience required.
• CSTS 2020, and WHMIS 2015 are required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret electrical code specifications and apply them to installations.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and code to determine layouts.
• Test electrical and electronic equipment for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical control systems and devices.

Key Information

• Hours: Project dependent; Monday - Friday. Minimum 40 hours per week, with overtime necessary during the busy season (April-October)
• Hourly rate is dependent on experience.

Job Description

• Interpret electrical code specifications.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.

Experience and Certification Requirements

• Journeyman Electrician Certification or equivalent is required.
• At least 2-3 years working as a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent experience required.
• Good physical stamina, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift heavy parts, climb ladders.
• CSTS 2020, and WHMIS 2015 are required.
• Fall Protection & Rescue, Aerial Platform, Confined Spaces, Rigging/Hoisting and Hand. Signals, H2S Alive and First Aid/CPR certification would be an asset.
• You have a safety conscious attitude and able to work with others in a team.
• A reliable means of transportation is required.
• Proficient English language skills required.

Education

Journeyman Certification of equivalent.
