Job summary

A leading company in Saskatchewan is seeking a Carpenter with an interprovincial Journeyperson ticket. The role involves maintaining facilities, constructing furniture, and operating necessary equipment on a rotating schedule at McClean Lake Mine. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience and be able to work with minimum supervision.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in commercial or industrial settings.
• Thorough understanding of tools and materials in carpentry.
• Class 2 driver's license is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair buildings and facilities.
• Construct and retrofit furniture.
• Operate various hand and power tools.

Skills

Understanding of carpentry methods

Ability to operate safety equipment

Responsibilities:
-Maintain site buildings and facilities
-Design, construct, retrofit, and repair cabinets, tables, shelves, benches, partitions, flooring, door and window frames, locks, door handles, and other types of furniture
-Maintain building interiors and exteriors
-Install siding, drywall and flooring
-Install, repair and maintain building roofs
-Operate, maintain, and calibrate hand and power carpentry tools
-Operate brush cutting equipment, chain saws, and waste incinerator
-Expected to operate some medium-duty equipment such as vac/water truck, personnel bus, gravel truck, small loaders, etc.

Skills and Qualifications:
-Must have an interprovincial Journeyperson Carpenter ticket
-5+ years experience working in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operation setting
-Thorough understanding of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in both rough and finished carpentry
-Knowledge of applicable building and safety code requirements
-Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
-Ability to read building specifications, blueprints and as-builts
-Class 2 drivers license is an asset
-Experience with operation of heavy/medium duty equipment is an asset
-Willingness to work with minimum supervision
-Work as part of the maintenance team to ensure the safe and efficient production of the mill
-Willingness to assist other trades in completion of their duties
-Priority will be given to residents of the Saskatchewans North

Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake Mine site
-14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required
-This position requires moderate physical ability
