Job summary

Lobello Manufacturing LTD. in Calgary is seeking an experienced cabinetmaker to join our millwork shop. You will cut, shape and assemble cabinets from plans, prepare specifications, and ensure precise fit and finish on doors, frames and millwork.

The role requires 5+ years of cabinetmaking experience, on-site work, use of hand tools and woodworking machines, and adherence to safety standards. Apprentices may be trained; own transportation is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cabinetmaking experience.
• On-site work at a millwork shop.
• Ability to read plans and specifications.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components
• Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage
• Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
• Instruct apprentices
• Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made
• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics
• Maintain clean and safe work environment
